Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common and dangerous kind of dementia in older people. Dementia is a brain disorder that creates disturbances in carrying out daily activities. Alzheimer’s disease grows slowly but it worsens overtime. It starts in older people when they slowly start forgetting the names of people who are involved in their life and it often leads to a person not being able to recognize their family members! It starts creating problems when one is around sixty years old and it worsens overtime. Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease where the symptoms worsen overtime. It usually starts with a mild memory loss then it may lead to more problems and hamper the ability of the human to carry out normal conversation. They may forget how to do basic stuff like brushing their teeth or combing their hair. This disease needs more awareness and concern because it is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, but recent studies may rank it third among the older people after heart disease and cancer. The damage caused by the disease initially begins in the learning and memory of the brain and later affects the part responsible for language reasoning and social behavior. The worst part about this disease is that no treatment can stop this disease but there are some drugs which are used to keep the symptoms from getting worse for a certain period of time.
